Why Bother With the War on Drugs?

Question by Nuts for Liberty: Why bother with the war on drugs?

I think I’ve made my point. No reason to spend billions and put peoples lives at risk at trying to control it, if someone wants to get dope they are going to get dope if its illegal or not.

When the prohibition ended crime rates fall SIGNIFICANTLY ESPECIALLY MURDER RATES!

I think it’s time for the government to kick the bucket on this one, stop being such a big government controlling peoples lives and everything will be alright.

You can put thousands of those drug lords out of business by simply leaving it alone and destroying their opportunities by not regulating it.
Freedom your argument doesn’t make much sense.

By stopping the regulation it would destroy the drug cartels operations in America simply because it would cost them more money to smuggle them into America and then sell them.

Pretty solid facts and statistics out there showing that every time the government regulated a drug crime rates increased.

When the prohibition ended and the sells of alcohol became legal, Al Capone went out of business. Doing the same for these drugs would yield the same effects.

Drug dealers can’t make business if it’s legal.

Exactly.
Couldn’t agree with you more.
I don’t know why they’re wasting time and money on trying to solve the issue.
If someone wants to get high, then they’re going to do it.
Ehh, the entire government nees to come to their senses.

Maybe the government should smoke a blunt and chill the f*ck out about it.
