A Question About Rush Limbaugh and Barack Obama?
Question by : A question about Rush Limbaugh and Barack Obama?
Why is it that news stories about Rush always have to include a line about Rush’s addiction to painkillers every time they mention him but news stories about Obama don’t include a line about his use and abuse of crack cocaine (which he admitted in his autobiography)?
I know that liberals out there will say that cocaine is not as bad as painkiller abuse, but the question isn’t about the merits of which drug a person chooses. Obama is a smoker and used crack, so I think every story about him should include this line, OR every story about Rush should stop using the other line.

The old what is good for you, is not good for me scenario. Liberals always get a buy on stuff like that, always.

Here’s a news story that doesn’t mention Rush’s addiction to “pain killers”: http://blogs.courant.com/roger_catlin_tv_eye/2009/12/rush-limbaugh-hospitalized-in.html
Many of the current stories are from just a few sources and published in DIFFERENT papers. The AP (Associated Press) has this story reprinted in several newspapers, magazines and journals leaving an impression that the addiction is always mentioned.
Currently, Rush is in a hospital in Hawaii and being that the story is about his health, the addiction comes into play because it was part of his health in the past . . . an addiction that wasn’t an experiement, but a longstanding addiction. Obama on the other hand, experimented with illegal drugs and doesn’t have current or any known health problems.
One is not merely better than the other. Rush had an addiction, which on all accounts looks like he’s beaten and Obama isn’t a dead beat drug addict shooting up in an alley — thank God as that would NOT bode too well on the presidency.
And on a side note, throwing in “And Obama smoked crack back in 19XX” would look quirky if placed in a story of how he’s soft and touchy feely with the terrorists. In addition, the last time I checked, smoking cigarettes, although nasty and bad for your health, are still legal in the US.
